The “Mobilizing Women for Economic Empowerment” project was held in the enlarged community of Akhuryan on “Gender-sensitive budgeting” topic.
During the meeting were discussed community services and obligations of the Local governmental bodies, as well as in the context of the presentation of problems and proposals, a practical workshop on budgeting was conducted using the information collected by the women of the self-help group.
The process of forming gender-sensitive budgeting was also clarified for the participants.
The meeting was held by the expert of the “School of Local Democracy ” Karen Hovhannisyan.The project in Shirak region is implemented by the joint efforts of World Vision Armenia – Վորլդ Վիժն Հայաստան and the “Women’s Rights House” NGO. The project is implemented within the framework of the “Economic Empowerment of Women in the South Caucasus, Phase II” project, which in turn is implemented jointly by United Nations Women and UNDP in Armenia.
