Today we started the three-day camp with our displaced women.

On the first day, Karine Davtyan introduced the organization and the program and clarified the expectations of the participants.

Then, trainer Stella Chandiryan spoke about “Women’s rights. Domestic and sexual violence. “Reaction Mechanisms”, during which the participants tried to further deepen their knowledge through practical and team work.

In the second part of the day, we had a course on “The importance of self-care” with psychologist Shana Hasasyan. Through practical discussions and games, the participants found out what self-care is and why it is important.  During the meeting, we also had a meditation segment, after which they drew their safe corner and shared their emotions and feelings.

And we ended our busy day with a viewing and discussion of the film “Suffragette”, which is based on the history of the women’s movement in Great Britain at the beginning of the 19th century, who fought for women’s rights.

*The program is implemented with the support of the Women’s Resource Center and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA.
